Microblading is a type of eyebrow art. It is all about creating the best shape for each face – a totally bespoke approach for each client.
The process is very precise thanks to the tool that is used which is effectively like a pen with the nib being a sloped blade with 12 – 16 little needles at the end – needles that don’t penetrate the skin but just delicately scratch the surface, much like a paper cut.
The needle very finely implants featherweight strokes with a medical grade pigment on the epidermis layer for the skin, creating fine, realistic and natural hair strokes.
Microblading is performed not in the deep layer of skin, but more on the surface.
This is also not permanent, and the colour fades within 12-18 months, depends on what skin type you have, oily or dry.
The hair strokes are far more natural and finer than any tattoo, as a handheld needle/blade is used – there is no electrical gadget that penetrates deep in this technique. There is, therefore, more of a scratching noise, rather than a buzz of a tattoo machine which pierces the skin so deeply.
Your first Microblading treatment will take about 2 hours, this includes paperwork and developing a plan for the brow shape you’d like to go for.
You’ll have an anaesthetic cream applied to the brow area after this it absolutely will not hurt and then the procedure itself will take 1 to 1.5 hours. However, you may notice some discomfort after the procedure as the area heals.
The healing process takes up to 10-14 days if following the aftercare plan. The day after your appointment, you may see the eyebrow area turn very dark. But it will soften over time and the dark scab-like pigment will naturally peel off. Finally, the colour will look like it disappears, but will then return revealing the true healed result. You need to be patient for the full month as your brows heal, then you will return for a required touch-up.
